Support Mary’s Journey to Healing
Hi everyone! For those of you who may not know me, my name is Sarah, and I’m deeply moved to organize support for someone who means a great deal to me, a second mother to me - my best friend’s mom, Mary.
Mary has spent her life giving - to her three children, her three grandchildren, and the countless students, teachers, and families she’s supported during her 27 years in the Haverhill Public School system. She is endlessly thoughtful, generous, and selfless - the kind of person who shows up for everyone else without hesitation.
If you know Mary, you know her heart. She’s the colleague who quietly kept snacks in her desk for hungry students, the friend who made meals for families in need, the advocate who stood beside others when they needed support most. Her love for her family - especially her grandchildren - is the heartbeat of her life, and she’s determined to fight for every moment with them.
This past August, just weeks before her long-awaited and well deserved retirement, Mary received the heartbreaking news that she has breast cancer. Instead of starting this new chapter resting and celebrating all she’s given, Mary now faces the toughest battle of her life.
As Mary begins treatment, the medical costs have already begun to mount. She and her husband deserve to focus on healing, hope, and recovery - not financial strain.
This fund is a small way for us - her friends, family, and community - to give back some of the love she’s poured into so many others. Your support, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers, means more than words can express. Every gesture, no matter the size, brings comfort and helps lighten their load.
I’ll be sharing updates here as Mary continues her journey so those who love her can follow along, celebrate small victories, and send encouragement when it’s needed most.
Thank you for helping surround Mary and her family with love, hope, and strength as they face this next chapter together.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sarah
