Join Us in Supporting Liz and Baby Alina

It is with deep sadness that we share our beloved Liz passed away on May 29th. She leaves behind her husband Jens and her infant daughter, Alina. Liz bravely battled aggressive gastric cancer showing extraordinary courage, grace, and love right up until the end.

Liz was diagnosed during her second trimester of pregnancy, a time meant to be filled with joy and anticipation. Despite the unimaginable, Liz chose to begin chemotherapy while pregnant, determined to fight to be there for her baby girl and husband.

Baby Alina was born at just 22 weeks, and against all odds, she is doing well in the NICU. She is already showing the same resilience and fight as her mom.

Liz was someone who has spent her career helping to save lives, care for patients in crisis, and show up for others when they need it most. Now, as her family faces the most difficult chapter of their own lives, we have the chance to show up for them.

This fund is for those who want to help ease the financial burdens and provide support for Alina’s future. Liz requested that all donations be set aside to support Alina’s educational and long-term expenses.

As a friend of the family, I have initiated this fundraiser, however the beneficiary of these funds is Baby Alina and these funds will be set aside and managed by an outside entity that Liz has chosen to use specifically for Alina as described above.

We have a strong community and have been contacted by many people who know this sweet family and we know you all want to help and in coordinating with Liz’s family this is truly the most urgent current and long-term need. We are trusting those who loved Liz and love Baby Alina and Jens to do what they can to support Alina and let them know how very loved they are. Liz was always a giver. This is our chance to give back.
