Support Linda C. and her dogs in a time of need

Three of the best things in our lives – our dogs - started with Linda C. and June O’N. Over many years, Linda and June together whelped litters of Clumber and Field Spaniel pups that went on to bring so much happiness to countless families. Maybe you are one of them. Or maybe you know Linda and June from the dog show world (where Wicksford Kennel achieved both national and international championships over the last half-century), or perhaps from their long presence in the small town of North Kingstown, RI.

As June aged and her health declined, Linda quit her job and dedicated herself to June’s full-time care so that June could remain in her home and with their dogs – Lu (an older dog that Linda and June accepted back when the owner’s health failed), Phryne, Parker, Harper, and Peregrine. June always had a dog at her feet or in her lap.

Sadly, June passed away on February 1, 2025. Although it was discussed, we believe there were no provisions made before June’s passing for the support of the dogs or for Linda’s ability to stay in the home for a period of time. In a scenario that would frighten any of us, Linda has been told that she has a short time to move out of the house – with nowhere to go for herself and five dogs. Her savings are depleted, having quit her job to care for June, and she is facing the uncertainty of how she will pay her daily living expenses until she can find work.

Linda did not ask for this GoFundMe to be created. But we are saddened by her situation, recognize that hard times can befall any of us at any moment, and wish to help in some way. We are hoping that Linda and June’s friends and acquaintances might donate an affordable amount to support Linda and the dogs in this time of need and transition.
