This is for our sister Kattie. She was recently diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the colon. She went to the hospital for her symptoms, and the team found a mass upon imaging. The surgery team in Amarillo took out the tumor and then placed a port. However, now she will need chemotherapy, imaging, and further appointments.
This unfortunate journey has just begun and we all know that life doesn’t stop. We as a family are trying to do anything and everything to help support Kattie.
If you didn’t already know Kattie, she is genuine. She just turned thirty-seven years old on April 2nd. Kattie is a true sweetheart. Kattie is a firm believer in God. She loves to be involved in her church and spends her time with her church community. She enjoys everything Disney. Kattie and her best friend Carmen like to explore the Disney parks. Kattie loves spending time with her niece and nephews. In her free time, Kattie enjoys playing with her dog Nala. Kattie is loved by many people.
We all know Kattie is a strong and independent person. However, now more than ever Kattie needs our support. We want to be able to help her in any way we can. Kattie had her first appointment with the oncology team on 5/14. This appointment gave us the information regarding the treatment plan and where to go from here. The oncology team let us know that Kattie will need eight to twelve chemotherapy treatments. Her first chemotherapy appointment is 5/28, then every two weeks after. Then after the chemotherapy treatments, the team will reevaluate to see if Kattie needs radiation.
All funds collected through here will be given directly to Kattie. This fight will not be easy. We do not want Kattie to think about any expenses that will accumulate as a result of this diagnosis (chemo, medical bills, rent, groceries, etc.)
We ask you to contribute if you can. No amount is too small or too large. We ask that you please keep Kattie in your prayers and continue to reach out for support. We thank you for your continued prayers and support. We can’t be more grateful for each of you who have already shown support and love. Kattie has loved all your messages, thoughts, donations, and prayers. Please continue to reach out to her through this journey. Finally, we ask you to spread the word and get this page out into your communities; the power of human connection is life saving.
Kattie will beat this! We will continue to update everyone on Kattie’s journey.
Thank you again for taking the time to visit Kattie’s page. ❤️
