Many of us know Tracy through her role as a teacher at the International School of Denver. We continuously feel the compassion and love that she shares with all of her students and families. She also shares a tremendous amount of heart for her son, Evo, and husband, Justin.
Earlier last week, their family experienced a challenging time as Justin was seriously injured at work while hooking up his snow plow which resulted in discitis and staph infection. Due to the staph infection spreading, Justin lost all use of his right hand and much of his left hand due to the infected vertebrae pinching his spinal column in his neck. After learning of his condition he received emergency surgery to remove two vertebrae and fuse his spine.
He was also found to have extensive infection in his neck. Two days later, he had another operation on both hands to remove staph infection that had advanced into the joints and bones of his hands.
His course has been complicated by continued infection, requiring biopsy and IV antibiotics. It is not clear at this time how long he will require hospitalization, but it is anticipated that he will require prolonged antibiotics, months of rehabilitation, and time off from work.
Justin is self-employed as a small business owner of a landscape construction company and is currently unable to work due to his condition. Please help us support Tracy, Justin and Evo during this difficult time for them.
