As some of you may know now, Heather Dejean, the sweetest woman, just got the devastating news of Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer, and I really want to raise money for her and my paran (her husband) since they will be out of work for a while getting her better and not have to focus on the amount of money they will need to make sure she is taken care of and getting everything they need to be able to focus on her and all her medical needs/bills.
Her recent post about how it all happened and if you are able to donate and help, anything helps. Please share & let's help them take the focus off not being able to afford bills while they focus on this horrible cancer. We love you so much

But I could use your prayers.✝️
-And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22
On August 11th, I woke up with some very unusual, uncomfortable back pain. My automatic first thought was that I slept wrong. I stretched and took mild pain relievers. Monday rolls around, and the pain had not subsided. First thing, I made an appointment to see a chiropractor. Saw her twice that week. Seemed to be a little better after that. August 29th, the pain had started worsening again. I needed some type of relief; we were headed to the beach for a mini family vacation. My doctor wasn’t available, but I was able to see her partner. Went in, treated me for muscle spasms. Started taking the meds she gave me, and they got me through the vacation, thankfully, but the pain was still there. At this point, I had tried stretching, a chiropractor, a massage gun, heating pad, ice, a doctor’s visit, and a nightly massage from my wonderful husband trying to help me get some relief. NOTHING WAS HELPING! The morning of September 3rd, I called and pleaded with my doctor to see me and order further testing. She sent in an order for an X-RAY. Got the result of that on 9/6 with the description “CT Scan with Contrast Recommended.” On September 10th, I did the CT Scan. The next morning, September 11th, Roger wakes me up. There is a “New Result” notification from MyChart. We opened it together. Of course, the majority of the result is in doctoral form. What stood out in the description was “9.4 cm left upper lobe mass, with a speculated nodule measuring 2.7 cm in the right upper lobe reflecting metastatic disease.” We held each other and cried, not knowing what we were about to deal with. Hurricane Francine was making her debut, so all offices were closed for me to call and get a better understanding. The next morning, my doctor called me and stated, “There is definitely some abnormality going on; we need to get you in with a pulmonologist.” By that afternoon, I was in to see Dr. Courmier. He could not tell me much more than it was a mass on both sides and that we needed additional testing. Biopsy it is. It was going to be 2 weeks before they could get me on the schedule. Not having a choice, the wait began. A week had passed, pain was worsening, and shortness of breath started. I was admitted into the hospital on Tuesday, September 17th. They were able to get my biopsy done. Sent home after a 3-night stay, results could take 3-5 days. More waiting. Took nearly 2 weeks for them to call me with results. Here we are, October 1st, oncology appointment – still waiting on more tests to be done, but Dr. H is almost certain that I have Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. My world has been completely flipped upside down within ONE month, but I plan to fight… for myself, for my husband, for my family, and for everyone who needs me. If you’ve taken the time to read this far, thank you. Pray for us. The next few months will probably be the hardest times of my life, but I know and believe that God has a special plan for me.
