Firefighter Rinquist recently joined the Beebe Fire Department as a full time firefighter. He was injured volunteering for his community at Mayflower Fire Department. Please join us in helping us support FF Rinquist through his difficult recovery.

Below is the statement from the Mayflower Fire Department regarding the incident.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 18, 2025, the Mayflower Fire Department was dispatched as automatic aid for a residential structure in the Saltillo Fire District.

Upon arrival multiple vehicles were in the driveway and the whereabouts of the occupants were unknown. As Mayflower firefighters arrived on scene, Mayflower Firefighter Rinquist, was tasked with primary search with another FF from Saltillo Fire Department. The team conducted a VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search) of a bedroom that had survivable space.

The bedroom search located no victims, and the team began to exit the room. FF Riveira from Saltillo Fire Department exited the bedroom window and as FF Rinquist going towards the window the floor gave way and FF Ringquist's leg fell through, was pinned, and exposed to heavy fire conditions in the crawl space. FF Rinquist called a mayday and FF Riveira immediately jumped back into the search room through the window and freed FF Rinquist.

Upon extrication from the structure, it was determined FF Rinquist sustained second and third degree burns to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and subsequently transferred to the burn unit at Arkansas Children's Hospital where he remains in good condition.
