Join Us in Supporting Emma Through Leukemia Treatment

This fundraiser is organized by the Pacifica Fire Department and Local 2400 in support of the Gomez family as their oldest daughter Emma (3 years old), was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Emma is currently undergoing treatment which includes weekly chemotherapy, platelet transfusions, and blood transfusions. Her care plan involves one month in the induction phase, nine to twelve months in the consolidation phase, and approximately a year and a half in the maintenance phase. Each phase targets a different aspect of her fight against leukemia and will involve future hospital stays, ongoing monitoring, and various medications and therapies administered both at home and in the hospital.

This is a long and demanding journey for Emma and her family. Michael and Nicole are adjusting to a new routine centered on Emma’s treatment and recovery, while also striving to provide as normal a childhood as possible to Emma and her younger sister Maya.

To help ease the financial strain and allow the family to focus on Emma, Local 2400 is raising funds to assist with medical expenses and any unforeseen challenges that may arise. Even under the best conditions, this is an incredibly difficult journey for any family to endure. Our hope is to provide support so that no matter where Emma is in her treatment process, she feels the love and strength of her extended fire family behind her.
