Hello everyone let me start by introducing myself. My name is Misty Newby and I am starting this go fundme for my best friend of 40 years Chrissy Young. I'm not going to lie in saying that I tried to procrastinate writing this that some how not putting it in writing or even saying it out loud would some how make it not true. But it is. My bestie and sister is a single mom and is in for the fight of her life. While she is one of the strongest people I know this time she needs our help. She has breast cancer. She is battling Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. (Erpr+-Her2-) they are not positive of the stage and wont fully know until they do surgery. Chrissy is facing a double Mastectomy, reconstruction and an unknown amount of other procedures and treatments. And while Chrissy will need a min of 3 months off work to heal medical bills the utilities and the world around her will offer no compassion or understanding during this most difficult time. That's why I'm humbly asking you the people who love her and even the people who may not have the privilege of knowing one of the best mothers I have ever seen and the most loyal friend that ever lived to help me save her.. If we can offer some form of financial peace of mind so that she can focus on what she needs to and that's getting well.. I ask us all to imagine yourself or your loved one in this incredibly hard situation and the fear that must come along with that and try to help alleviate what we can for this truly deserving mother that is a true blessing to this world. No amount is to small every thought, prayer, consideration and donation are welcomed and appreciated from the bottom of hearts.

Update: Chrissy's surgery is scheduled for mid-August 2024. We are extremely grateful for the love and support we have received so far. Chrissy especially appreciates those who have reached out to her personally with words of encouragement, and to share their own personal inspiring journeys of strength and perseverance.
