Join Us in Supporting Charlie Brown's Cancer Battle

As most of you know, I’m Mandy Schmitt.

My brother is Charlie Brown. Most of you that know me will know him, he’s a kind and caring guy, and always there to make you laugh, especially when you need it.

Loyal and devoted to friends and family always, and also his favorite football team, the Steelers.

Over a month ago, Charlie started having issues with one of his legs and it was hard for him to walk on it. After countless ER trips and Dr appointments (MRI’s, pet scan, ct scan, chest X-Rays, you name it, he had it done). They found a mass and lesions on his spine, but still no clear diagnosis.

Soon after, it got worse and went to both of his legs, so now as far as his legs go, he’s completely immobile.

He ended up in Cleveland hospital where they did a biopsy of the mass on his spine and they found that he has spinal cancer.

We were told he will never walk again, he’s never going to go back to his home of 15 years, he won’t go back to his job, his life completely changed in such a short period of time.

As of right now, he’s in the rehabilitation facility of MCO, out of Toledo, where they are trying to work with him to learn to live his life in a wheelchair. We are searching for a care facility closer to home so he can have the chemo and radiation treatment that he needs to have to prevent this cancer from spreading to his brain.

We are helping him with all of this but I thought I’d reach out to my friends and the community to see if I can help him even more.

Anything helps. He’s incurred lots of medical expenses along this journey, and without being able to work, paying for all of them is overwhelming for him amongst everything else that he is dealing with.

I just want to show him that everything he’s did for ppl over the years has not went unnoticed.

We appreciate anything, anyone does.

Even if it’s just a text or a phone call to him. He’s pretty scared right now and we understand why. Let’s pls come together and help Charlie.
