Statistics say 1 in 5 cats will develop cancer in their lifetime … we have 4 and somehow got the short end of the stick . Hi everyone , my name is Josie ! I’m a mom of 1 little boy and 4 fur babies . On June 29th our world crashed, our sweet rescue kitty Bagheera we have come to love so deeply for the last 5 years has been diagnosed with cancer . This all started around Easter we had noticed he had a little kitty cold (nothing out of the ordinary) that progressed to him having a large lump on his neck , we rushed him to an emergency hospital not a dollar in our pockets , we were immediately quoted $3,000 just to take a look and see what it may be , we were in a very tight situation and had to decline , kindly they send us home with a steroid and antibiotics. We were so hopeful that this was the cure and we lucked out at the generosity we were shown, unfortunately steroids had worked for a week and the declined progressed. With google and research we were hopeful it was polyps and so was our vet. When further examining him she knew …. This was to close to a lymph node to be anything other than cancer , along withhis breathing and oxygen and signs of blue in his mouth he was declining and she knew even with $50,000 we wouldn’t be guaranteed to save him. Moving forward and pushing through tears we are now working with our vet through at home hospice for quality of life care , but that still comes with a price , bi weekly payments of $110 for steroids to keep him comfortable plus vet fees until the time comes for our sweet boy to pass , next phase will be to plan for cremation and fees associated in that area. With your help along side my own family’s contributions even just $1 or a share Bagheera will have the best at home care he can with medicine to help comfort him till his time passes.
