Hi family and friends,

This is from Moriah's sisters—doing what we know how to do best in these kinds of situations and moments of vulnerability, reaching out to our friends and family for support.

Josh and Moriah were told by the doctors over four years ago that they wouldn’t be able to have children without in vitro fertilization for no clear reason except that her tubes were blocked.

We prayed and four miracles later, here they are!

Their newest miracle baby Liliana (Lily) is in the NICU.

Moriah’s last pregnancy was extremely challenging and was high risk as the baby had a rare anatomical insertion abnormality that put the baby at risk of liver failure, heart failure, blood clots, and early death. The doctors had never seen it before.

My sister went through weekly appointments, sometimes two appointments a week for multiple hours, monitoring the baby’s heart and getting ultrasounds with all her other three babies in tow.

Every week that baby was in-utero was a miracle as they were not sure if she would make it to even 26 weeks.

But she did!

She made it to 36 weeks and six days, in fact. But the day before her scheduled induction, the baby started to show signs of distress so Moriah was sent in for an early induction which the baby didn’t tolerate and ultimately resulted in an emergency C-section that night.

After 9 emotionally and physically draining months - we are so relieved she was born and alive but the fight is not quite done yet.

So far, ultrasounds have shown her liver anatomy is not quite normal, but is functioning normally. Which is an MIRACLE! Initially, we thought she would need a liver transplant.

However, they are still evaluating her heart and have concern about her valves and pump. She has jaundice and is under the lights continuously. Her platelets are dangerously low, and it’s not clear why yet- and she’s required a blood transfusion.

It’s been an extremely stressful time for their family, especially around the holidays. And to top it all off, their dog of over 15 years passed away days after Lily was born.

While my sister is recovering from her C-section at home, her husband is caring for their three little ones but will need to return to his small family business he runs, and their whole village of immediate family is rallying in support to try to drive her to the hospital as much as possible in between their work and school.

We have loved sharing our lives with you on social media the fun, the joy and now in the moments of vulnerability, in need.

If you’d like to support them, we are asking for your support first and foremost in prayer. Pray for Lily’s (Liliana’s) health and wellness and full recovery. We would love for her to be home in full health before Christmas and for the doctors to have answers.

If you’d like to support in other ways, we have created a GoFundMe to help offset the additional costs for medical bills, childcare, transportation and hospital parking and facilitate easy meals to help in the recovery process so Lily can spend more time with her family while in the NICU.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We love you and appreciate you all for caring.
