A father who is also a Command Sergeant Major in the 82nd Airborne Division devoted his life to his country and is just beginning the long road to take care of the son, recently diagnosed with a very serious form of cancer. Funds
will be used to cover travel and related expenses, as they make decisions about surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. The road will be long and challenging.
His son is 14 years old and very recently diagnosed with an especially aggressive form of osteosarcoma, bone cancer. The cancer started in his leg and has spread to his lungs. Like his dad, he is a fighter, but his prognosis remains guarded. He is currently at the Mayo Clinic and started his first of 30 chemotherapy treatments this week. Surgery will also have to take place. His Dad is traveling back and forth between
Minnesota to be with his son and North Carolina to fulfill his responsibilities to Soldiers and the rest of this family.
Soldiers in the 82nd Airborne Division, currently in North Carolina are always ready. They are in the air within 18 hours when called upon to serve America at home and abroad, ready to jump into any situation and fight. This lead has spent 24 years answering the call to fight and deployed 8 times. Today he is fighting for the life of his son.
We hope that insurance will cover the treatments but know that there will be additional expenses along this path. Anything not directly used in support of this event will be donated to related cause. Please pray for CSM and his son first and foremost, and then consider how you can help one of America’s finest warriors.
