Help Support My Son After His Pool Accident
This past weekend, my 10-year-old son suffered a tragic pool accident that turned our world upside down. He was found face down in the water for approximately 4–5 minutes. A friend’s father and a nurse who happened to be nearby pulled him from the pool and immediately began CPR. Their quick action, along with the EMTs who arrived shortly after, helped save his life. He was flown by helicopter from LGH to Penn State Children’s Hospital, where he remains in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on life support.
Today was supposed to be his first day of 5th grade. He was so excited to go back to school, see his friends, and meet his new teacher. Instead, we’re by his bedside, praying and hoping for healing.
Despite everything, he’s showing incredible signs of progress. He’s opened his eyes, squeezed the nurses’ hands, and is following simple commands. He’s even trying to breathe on his own, though the medical team is keeping him on the ventilator to allow his body to rest and recover. His strength and determination are nothing short of amazing.
My son is a vibrant, joyful kid who loves soccer more than anything. He plays in both the fall and spring seasons and dreams of becoming a professional player one day. He’s a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan—CR7 is his hero. He wears his jersey proudly and never misses a chance to show off his footwork in the backyard or at practice.
This journey is one I never imagined we’d be on. The emotional toll is immense, and the financial strain is growing with each day. I’m asking for support to help cover medical expenses, travel costs, and the many unexpected needs that come with long-term hospitalization and recovery.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send a prayer, it would mean the world to me. Every bit of support helps give my son the best chance at healing and returning to the life he loves—school, soccer, and being the bright, energetic boy we all know.
Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
