We are raising $80,000 to put “Greetings From War Ravaged Portland” on billboards across the city. It’s a community powered art installation designed to boost morale, reclaim the narrative, and show the world the real Portland.
Portland, Oregon is a great place to live, work and raise a family. Lately, the loudest voices describing our city aren’t the ones who live here. Being labeled “war ravaged” and “unsafe” hurts our local community. Plus, it’s just not true.
The “Greetings From War Ravaged Portland” collection began to combat the negative narrative with humor through postcards, greeting cards and stickers. It caught on quickly, reminding us why we love this city so much. As a community, we’ve sent hundreds (by the time you’re reading this, we might be in the thousands!) of cards with this messaging to friends, families and people around the world. Now, we want to take that message citywide with three billboards celebrating the humor and charm of Portland as way to show pride for our city.
We know this is a difficult time for many, and there are many important causes seeking support. We wanted to do this project for the benefit of our entire community. It’s not just about a billboard. It’s about lifting morale. It’s about local pride. It’s about reclaiming our narrative through art, which is something Portland has always valued deeply. We’re raising $80,000 to fund three billboards across the city. 100% of donations will go directly into producing and installing the billboards. If we don’t reach our goal, all donations will be refunded. Any funds raised beyond the project needs will be donated to the Neighborhood House, a local nonprofit serving Portland families.
Every single contribution, whether it’s $1 or $1000, brings this idea closer to reality. Please consider sharing this GoFundMe with friends, coworkers, and fellow Portlanders!
We really appreciate your support.
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
