Hello Friends and Family,

I wanted to provide you with an update on Sean's health. He had a neck scan on August 14th to assess the effectiveness of the chemotherapy and radiation treatment he completed at the end of August. While the scan revealed no tumors in his neck, it did show fluid buildup in his right lung. Follow-up chest scans indicated a significant amount of fluid and nodules in both lungs.

Sean was admitted to the hospital, where he stayed for nearly two weeks. During his hospitalization, doctors were able to drain the fluid and perform biopsies. He was discharged last Thursday and returned home with a drainage tube inserted into his right lung, which I am responsible for draining daily.

After his discharge, Sean had a PET scan to check his entire body for cancer. We met with his oncologist last Thursday, and it was confirmed that the cancer has metastasized to both lungs, his left hip bone, and five lymph nodes in the neck area. The oncology doctor has recommended immunotherapy to help control the cancer's spread, although it is not expected to cure it. Sean is likely to begin this treatment in December.

In the meantime, we have been exploring a couple of cancer treatment centers in the U.S. and Mexico. Sean has decided to pursue treatment at a facility in Tijuana, Mexico, called Hope4Cancer. The treatment program lasts for three weeks, and we plan to leave on November 18th and return home on December 11th.
