Join Us in Saving Our Beloved Mac

On April 23rd our dog Mac suffered a seizure at 4am. My boyfriend and I woke up to him losing control of his bowels and vomiting. Mac was unresponsive and not breathing. Joe performed CPR and chest rubs on Mac. When he finally came back to consciousness, we immediately rushed him to the VCA in West Palm Beach. His vitals were stable at the ER vet, he was showing signs of improvement and Mac was discharged.

A few hours later, Mac’s health took a rapid decline. We rushed him back to the ER vet where Mac started vomiting blood. Mac is currently on oxygen and undergoing multiple tests to come to a conclusion.

As of right now- they believe Mac may have ingested rat poison or has a bruise on his lung. He will need to stay at the vet overnight for monitoring.

A little back story on Mac-

Mac joined our lives simply by chance. I was driving down Southern Blvd the week before Halloween heading to the grocery store. I stopped at a stop sign and a saw a little grey and white dog run in front of my car. I jumped out and tried to get him off the road. Another lady had stopped, who had another dog in her car to assist in the capture of our speedy little Mac.

Mac finally gave in, and walked over to me- wagging his stubby little tail. He jumped right into the back of my car. I took him to a local vet to see if he was chipped- he wasn’t chipped. The vet couldn’t keep him, no rescues would take him because he’s an intact bully breed. I called my boyfriend and he said we can keep him until someone came forward.

Well, fast forward to today- Mac is full part of our little family. He loves his walkies, playing with his brother Hank, and a good snack.
