Please Help Us Save This Stray!

Please help us save this stray! I found this girl wandering the streets of Oklahoma City in the rain with no tags or microchip. She looked skinny and was drinking out of puddles she was so desperate for water. She had untreated dermatitis all over and smelled absolutely rotten. I was surprised by how sweet and friendly she was. She came straight to me and got in the car with me. She instantly became my little buddy, trying to smooch me up and snuggle me on the car ride out. All the shelters in this city are full, and I later found out they are kill shelters. I've called so many rescues, none of which thus far are doing intake of new animals. Dogs are being dumped out here daily and there is nowhere for them to go. She's been living in our garage for the time being, but the weather of Oklahoma can be quite unpredictable, with brutal cold wins and high temps that make a garage unsuitable for a dog.

She didn't do well during the first introduction with my dog, but I don't want to give up on her just yet. This dog has potential! I can't even explain the gratitude she exudes towards myself and my husband. The little girl is always so happy to see us, and every time we feed her or give her water she'll smooch us up and seems so happy to be here with us. I think she just needs to learn how to be a proper doggo, and we've decided we're willing to work with her aggression issues. However, in order to do that we are in serious need of supplies. As we just moved across the country and got our home, to say we are struggling financially is an understatement. I lost my job for approximately 2 months and just recently got it back, which was also a bump in the road that we have trying to catch up from. This really wasn't the best time for this to happen, but I feel like it happened for a reason.

I'm hoping we can invest in a good kennel and muzzle for this girl so we can bring her inside safely, a suitable harness and leash so she can't pull us into dangerous situations, and most importantly, a trainer to help her unlearn some of those negative reactions. The trainer is going to be much more expensive than we originally anticipated, but from the consultation alone we saw a small bit of progress and hope. I have also invested in a veterinary visit for her to make sure she was in good enough health to be around us and the dogs. She does need to be spayed, which we're hoping will help with some of the aggression. She has also been INHALING her food, and my dogs are already on an expensive prescription diet for their allergies. Adding a starving dog to the mix has made a dent in our food budget.

We are so appreciative of any help that you can give. I know we are asking for a lot, but this situation has been breaking our hearts and we would like to help her as much as possible. If any of you can send even a single dollar or can share this link we will be thankful, and I'm sure she is too. Thank you all and I will make sure to keep you updated with her progress. ❤️
