Ritchie has already had a cyst on his back leg that we were told was benign. It never seemed to bother him.

Two days ago, Saturday, it got extremely infected, and we took him to the vet. He got prescribed antibiotics and scheduled surgery for Monday. He got worse on Sunday, so we rushed him to the emergency. He had a fever of almost 105. He stayed at the emergency overnight getting IV treatment. They were able to control the fever, and the bloodwork came back good. But the infection doesn’t go away.

He is still at the emergency and will have surgery to remove the mass in a few hours, even though it’s still infected, because there isn’t another option at the moment. We have spent over $12,000 and this is just the beginning. He is loved by many, and we ask for donations so we are prepared for the next step in this journey, which is post-op, still at the emergency hospital.

We will try everything to have our king back at driving us all crazy with his stubbornness. Thank you for all the prayers and the love towards him. It’s definitely made it easier on us.
