Hello. Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. My name is Rebecca, I am Rick's daughter. On Friday August 2nd I heard the words that no child ever wants to hear from their parents " I have cancer." My dad is a rockstar and received his diagnosis of having a very rare form of melanoma in his left eye better than most would. He has since gotten a team in Boston with some of the best doctors in this field through Mass General, so we are trying to stay optimistic. He now has to go through special Proton Beam Irradiation treatments to get rid of the cancer. Many people know my dad from a variety of different places and events whether it be Open Mic, Quahog Festival, FLMFF Bike runs, Church Street coffeehouse, The Methodist Church dinners, or any of the many things he has done in this community. My dad has always been the first one to lend a helping hand to anyone and any organization that needed it. Now it's time that we reach back out to the community that he has loved and supported for decades for some help. Dad is on a fixed income and now faces a very large medical bills for these treatments. He currently does not have transportation of his own, so he relies on the generosity of other and the public transportation system to help him get around. That being said he will be required to stay in Boston throughout his treatment, so we are trying to get him accommodations in Boston close to the hospital. We are asking for your help with the unexpected upcoming expenses surrounding this. Any donations received will be put towards any medical bills and other expenses associated with all of this. Again, Thank You and God Bless.
