Hello all! I hope everyone reading this is doing well. I am disabled from 2021 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have had 3 surgeries and radiation and, thankfully, the tumor is stable right now, but I still struggle with some vision and balance issues. My wife and 5 children have been living in a home that had a slow leak. It eventually ran into the basement ceiling, which took us away from it. After a long time searching, we were able to find the leak in the bathroom. We couldn't afford to professionally remediate the water damage that has accumulated from it. We have fixed the leak, fixed the electrical system and panels, and so much more to try to keep this house livable. At this point, we are in a rock and hard spot. With all the repairs that were needed, mortgage payments were missed. Along with my family, camping for a month in the summer to get healthy because they couldn't figure out what or where the mold was that was making them sick. We have lost everything multiple times from rental properties that did not properly repair or remediate water-damaged areas. This house is our home, and so much loved. We want to find a way to save it and finish the repairs that are needed.

The ceiling downstairs needs to be replaced, the flooring and subfloor need to be replaced in the main living area, the carpet and floor in the room across from the bathroom that has rot damage and mold. The wall behind the washroom needs to be removed because it was also molded from the leak, and more than likely the tub is being removed and flooring underneath it replaced. I know when my wife took the flooring out that had water trapped under it in the main hallway and entryway everyone got sicker, she wants to be able to work properly to prevent them from getting more sick in the process. We are both looking for work to make extra money to help save up to finish repairs. I am a mechanic and she paints and cleans.
