Join us in reaching a Milestone!

Leigh Academy Milestone is a large and exceptional special school for some of the region’s most vulnerable children from nursery to sixth form. It has been part of Leigh Academies Trust, one of the country’s most successful groups of schools, since 2012. It has been judged outstanding in all categories by Ofsted three times in a row, amongst only a tiny proportion of schools in England to have achieved such an accolade.

We do what we can within our government funding envelope to ensure staff and students have the investment they need to maintain standards and high quality care. However, that funding only stretches so far. Milestone’s students require appropriate and engaging outdoor facilities to support their academic, pastoral and physical development. Our existing facilities are reaching the end of their natural life and we do not have all of the necessary funds to revamp them in the way our children deserve. The Trust will invest as much of its funds as it can to make this happen, but we are looking for the support of others so we can complete the job!

For that reason we are taking the unusual step of reaching out to others to see if they can help. It will be possible to sponsor the whole project or part of the project. Every donation, no matter how big or how small, matters! We hope to raise enough funds to carry out this work over the 2025 summer holiday period so that these facilities are ready for our pupils when they return for the 2025-26 academic year.
