My name is Jill Wagner and I have recently become friends with Makayla and TaMarcus Evan’s and their 2 sweet boys Keagan, age 6, and Kamar, 4 . I am from NC and when Helene hit my heart broke watching all of the tragedy unfolding . I knew I couldn’t help everyone but I could try to help one family . I came across The Evan’s family and their story and I was devastated for them . On Sept 27th , Helene hit their area of Swannona NC . Their home floated away as they waded though the dark water and were only able to grab their children and dogs. I can’t imagine that feeling of fear and hopelessness. I didn’t know how much I could raise for them or what their goal as a family was at that point but I knew I had to do something . Through the good people of Tellico Plains Tennessee, my friends in California and North Carolina and some other people I don’t even know , we were able to raise 40k . Makala and TaMarcus would love to give their little boys some stability in working towards buying a home for their family . I admire Makayla so much . Makayla has been committed to helping people her whole life and is a dedicated and hard-working Certified Nursing Assistant at a veterans hospital who works closely with our nations heros . TaMarcus works at MB marketing and works long hours on the factory floor . He wants nothing more than to support his family and give them a home again . I am currently working with the good people over at Clayton homes on the families behalf and believe ( with your help ) we can get this sweet family the home they deserve and a chance to start over in a way that gives them hope .
