Join Us in Praying for Ashley's Recovery

Story

Our daughter Ashley has been cancer free for 34 years. She was diagnosed with stage three neuroblastoma when she was 10 months old. Ashley went through three years of monthly chemo and two rounds of radiation therapy, and numerous surgeries. It was a long and hard road and while it saved her life, it has had a lot of difficult lasting effects. She has struggled with her health and well being for many years. Her last couple of years have been especially rough and after a lot of appointments and tests the doctors discovered Ashley had a mild stroke and while digging deeper to discover why, they found a hole in her heart. The cardiologist thinks this hole allowed a clot to form and pass through, traveling to her brain. Therefore, Ashley will be having surgery on April 29th to close the hole. Ashley is married and has a daughter who is 17 years old. They live in Wyoming, and Ashley has enjoyed being a cook for a senior living center for several years. Though, at this point Ashley is no longer able to work. The hope is that closing the hole in her heart will improve the function of the heart, reduce the risk of more strokes, and help her feel better. We would like to ask everyone to add Ashley and her family to their prayers. Additionally, poor health brings financial burden and we have set up a GoFund Me account to help Ashley and Tim out. If anyone would like to chip in just follow the link. Ashley is one of the longest living survivors from her treatment group 1987-1990. She is one tough girl, stubborn as hell. But right now she is scared, and despite her staunch independence, she needs a little help. We will post updates when the time comes. Thank you. Matthew and Kimberly
