On Saturday, June 28, Evelyn Parker was in a serious single-car accident in TN while driving to meet family for vacation. Her car rolled several times, and she was airlifted to UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN in critical condition. Evelyn's parents, Steve and Ericka, had just arrived in Florida for an anniversary trip when they got the call and immediately made the eight-plus hour drive to be at her side.
Praise the Lord, Evelyn is alive! Her list of injuries is extensive and will require several more days in the hospital followed by a stay in a rehab facility. Both legs had broken and displaced bones, which required surgery on Sunday to put rods through both tibias. She also has bones broken in her feet, left hand, and left elbow. She received 9 staples in her head, has a partially collapsed lung, and a severely bruised body.
Please join us in praying for Evelyn and her family, specifically for her pain management and recovery. Also, pray they are able to work with insurance to have her medically transported back home to Cincinnati for her rehab once she is well enough, so they don't need to stay in TN even longer.
We praise God for the miracle that Evelyn survived such a horrible accident without any internal injuries or paralysis. Monday evening, she was moved out of ICU into a regular hospital room.
Many friends and family have asked how they can help. Please continue to pray for her recovery and for her parents, Steve and Ericka. If you feel led to help the Parkers with the expenses of hotels, food, travel, and any medical expenses, please use this GoFundMe. The Parker family will have direct access to the funds to help with their expenses during Evelyn's hospital stay and recovery. The family intends to donate any funds that go above and beyond their needs to Liberty Bible Academy.
