Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support during one of the most difficult times our family has ever faced. Our 14-year-old daughter, a bright, talented, and loving young girl, is currently battling severe depression. Her struggle became so overwhelming that we had no choice but to admit her into a psychiatric hospital for her own safety. She began cutting herself and feels like suicide is the only way out of her pain.

Our daughter is an incredible young woman with big dreams. She is a straight-A student in the gifted and talented program, a passionate baker with the dream of owning her own business one day, and a creative soul who loves singing, writing music, and dancing. She lights up any room she enters, and her kindness and talent are truly special. Seeing her in so much pain has been heartbreaking for our family.

We are a family of six—mom, dad, our 16-year-old daughter (her sister), and grandparents whom we also care for. While we have an incredible support system emotionally, we are struggling financially with the unexpected medical expenses of in-patient treatment at a mental health facility. Even with insurance, the cost of her emergency admittance, in-patient care, and the outpatient therapy she will need afterward is expected to be at least $10,000.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward covering her medical bills, ongoing counseling, and treatment to ensure she gets the care she needs to heal. Right now, she is starting to open up in acute, in-patient therapy, which gives us hope, but she has a long road ahead in her fight against this illness.

As parents, we want nothing more than to give our daughter the best chance at recovery and a bright future. If you can donate, any amount—big or small—will make a difference.
