Just over a year ago, in June 2024, my dear husband Mathew - "Matt" - was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Myeloid Sarcoma of the Thoracic spine. In November 2024 he underwent a stem cell transplantation procedure, and since that time he has been intermittently battling post-stem cell transplant complications. As a result, over the past year he has only spent roughly about six weeks home and not hospitalized. Because of this, Mathew hasn't been able to work in over a year, and needless to say this loss of income in addition to his constantly accruing medical costs have resulted in significant financial challenges to us.
