Our mom, Marva Beck, was recently diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. A few months ago she began feeling some discomfort in the lower abdomen. After an ultrasound, a mass was discovered in her cervix. She was then referred to a specialist, when an MRI and biopsy were performed. After a few weeks of waiting for the biopsy results it was determined to be cancerous. She was then referred to an oncologist to determine a plan of treatment. The treatment plan requires one additional test, a CAT scan, and seven weeks of radiation and chemo therapy. Radiation will be done privately five days per week, in Montego-bay; chemo will be done once per week publicly, also in Montego-bay. After which additional testing will be done.
