As most can imagine, our lives were devastated with the word Cancer. My husband Mark, 58 years young, was always so full of life and has rarely ever been sick at all. He had been losing his voice for short periods of time over the past couple of years, blaming the hoarseness on sinus drainage and allergies. After taking a new job requiring him to answer incoming calls, he decided it was time to get some help for his voice. This lead to the first part of this nightmare. His diagnosis was vocal cord cancer. 28 radiation treatments and the CT scan showed it was all gone. PTL! Then a huge amount of swelling on the right side of his neck developed with excruciating pain running from his neck through his ear and into his head. If he talks, swallows or turns his head, the amount of pain is debilitating. He is rapidly losing weight due not being able to swallow. Following a PET scan and biopsy of the lymph node, we were again devastated to find that this also was cancerous and apparently missed in the same scan five months before. He also now has some spots on his lungs that will need to be biopsied and they are setting up an MRI of the brain. With that being said, Mark has once again been placed on a second leave from
work which leaves us with only one income. With our bills and travel expenses to and from these appointments and treatments, we are asking that you look into your heart and if you can spare anything to help us see a way through this and be able to focus solely on his healing; it would be immensely appreciated. Thank you for taking time to look at our story. May God bless you all.
