Hello everyone, this is Tom Hayes, and he is a man with a heart of gold. Tom has lived in North Branch for the last 15-plus years and loves his community. Tom has struggled with a major infection in both of his feet for many years, requiring multiple surgeries on his legs. They took the toes of both feet, but the infections still kept coming back. The left leg did end up healing, but without his toes, obviously. His right foot, on the other hand, just would not heal, and after several surgeries to try and save the foot, the doctors finally decided he needed to have it amputated just below the knee. Tom now is in a wheelchair and can't presently work because he still needs to heal and undergo physical therapy also.

Tom needs our help in making his home more handicapped accessible and needs a new deck built, bathroom remodeling, and other various things in his home. Tom has always been the first person to help others, and he really does have a heart of gold. Let's get behind this as a community and friends, and let's help Tom make his life accessible so he can still live and do his everyday activities.
