We are the family of of Hamilton County Deputy Sheriff (ret) Kenneth Pendleton- better known as "KP".

In September 2024 our world was turned upside down with one lab result. Kenny had his usual blood work done which included a test called a Prostate-Specific Antigen or PSA. Kenny has faithfully had this blood test done every year since he was in his 40's with normal results. But this time was different. His PSA was elevated. There are many reasons a PSA could be elevated, but it warranted further investigation. He went to his urologist who was not extremely alarmed but felt he should get an MRI "just to make sure". As most of us know, getting tests and appointments scheduled with specialists are not a quick task. Kenny had his MRI done which showed 2 lesions on his prostate. He then had 10 biopsies done of each lesion. On December 3rd, we heard the news we didn't want to hear: Kenny has an aggressive form of prostate cancer. He then had to have a PET scan on 12/24/24 to see if the cancer had spread anywhere. Thankfully, the PET scan was clear and Kenny can have surgery. He will be having a radical prostatectomy and removal of pelvic lymph nodes on January 9th, 2025. People have asked how they can help and we are blessed to have so very many angels in our lives- both in and out of state! Kenny and the entire family are always welcoming of prayers, good vibes and positive thoughts.
