UPDATE: We received news that my dad's tumor has returned, and he will require a third brain surgery. While this news is disheartening, he is keeping his spirits up as the positive person he is, and we are hopeful for the future. He will still require radiation treatment after healing from surgery. Hi everyone,

My name is Mandi, and my dad Jack Overs is currently facing a Grade 3 Ependymoma, an extremely rare and aggressive brain tumor.

Dad had two major brain surgeries and they are confident they removed the majority of the tumor, but he still requires more treatment to ensure we get rid of it completely. Ependymoma tumors are almost unheard of in the right frontal lobe in adults, where his was, and only account for 1.9% of brain tumors in the U.S. They work fast and metastasize in the central nervous system, so it's extremely important my dad receives further care.

He is beginning a course of radiation treatment that requires frequent travel—over 130 miles round trip to the nearest treatment center. While we’re incredibly grateful for the care he’s receiving, the distance and time involved come with some challenges.

We’re raising funds to help with:

Transportation to and from treatment

Basic living expenses

Time away from work to focus fully on healing

My dad is such a wonderful grandpa/poopaw, father, friend, and one of the kindest, most loving people you could ever meet. He paved my life with music, love, and has supported me in everything I have ever done. He has always shown up for us, now, we’re showing up for him.

Anyone who knows him, probably knows that he did not even want us to do this fundraiser, but we aren't left with too many options right now.
