Join Us in Honoring Macondo's 30 Years

Sandra Cisneros founded Macondo 30 years ago, and it has changed the world. As the celebration looms, Houston Macondistas, Librotraficantes, Nuestra Palabra: Latinos Having Their Say members, and supporters of all of these groups and friends of Sandra Cisneros want to pitch in to support Macondo.

Macondo is a premiere writing workshop that understands the heart, should, and craft of our community while also acknowledging all the work our writers do to shatter the barriers that get in the way of our community sharing its voice or experiencing literature.

But not only do alums flourish, but fans of lit also get other great performances during the Macondo Writers Annual Retreat, or Macondistas spread what they learned back in their hometowns, and the publishing world gets to spread the works of so many folks inspired and touched by Macondo.
