Hi there, I’m Lindsay. My best friend Alex’s dog, Talullah, has been tentatively diagnosed with steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis (SRMA) and requires a referral to a veterinarian neurologist as well as an MRI immediately.

She is just over a year old and is experiencing severe neck pain, a lack of appetite, fever, lethargy, swollen and stiff joints, and stilted walking. SRMA is an immune-mediated disease that can affect any dog breed, but Boxers are known to be predisposed. It causes inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord and associated arteries and requires quick and aggressive treatment.

Alex recently lost her dog, Titan, in June 2024, and her other dog, Teddy, had been diagnosed with cancer just prior to that, although he is stable at this time.

Thankfully, Talullah’s prognosis is good as long as she is able to get the treatment and continued care she needs, which is extremely costly.
