Oscar Valdez was a young man who loved his family and friends. He would do anything to make them happy. On December 21, 2024, four days before Christmas, Oscar passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his home where he and his fiancée Claudia and their children lived. The home is now a sad place and they are all terribly heartbroken. Claudia feels no longer able to live there with the children and since then has not returned home. Not only because of the painful reminder of Oscar passing away there, but Claudia also cannot afford the living expenses alone as Oscar was the breadwinner of the family. He was a hardworking man who worked for the Boar's Head company for almost ten years.

Oscar loved the fishing community and was a part of the Beast River Fishing Family and the Mr Poseidon Spoof Crew where he enjoyed his love of fishing for Striped Bass with others. He often donated to different fishing events and would participate in going to fishing shows and challenges. Oscar would watch Mr Poseidon’s YouTube show every week and supported the small fishing business on the show by purchasing lures and other fishing equipment necessary for the surfcasting sport. He was truly a part of the community. This GoFundMe campaign is an opportunity to give back to him as a solid fishing community that we are. The donations will be used to help his family in their relocation and to help his family have a new start.

These are difficult times for everyone - only give if you are able to. Your family and responsibilities come first but whatever you can give no matter how small means a lot to Oscar’s family.
