Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

Last night, March 8, 2025, our world turned upside down when a fire tore through the home of Jim and Cynthia, a beloved family of four in our Mendon community. Thankfully, Jim, Cynthia, and their two children are unharmed, but their house—the place they’ve filled with love, laughter, and memories—suffered catastrophic damage. They’ve lost nearly everything and will need to rebuild from the ground up.

Jim and Cynthia are the kind of people who give everything to others. Jim, a retired Coast Guard veteran, spent years serving our country, protecting our shores with courage and dedication. Cynthia, also a Coast Guard veteran, now pours her heart into shaping young minds as a teacher in the Medfield schools. Together, they’ve raised two wonderful kids (Alyssa and Logan) while quietly building a life of service and stability. But now, they need our help to get back on their feet.

The fire left them displaced, with little more than the clothes on their backs. Insurance will cover some costs, but the road to rebuilding is long and expensive—temporary housing, replacing essentials, and starting over are burdens no family should face alone. This is where you come in.

We’re rallying together to raise $50,000 to help Jim, Cynthia, and their kids recover from this tragedy. Every dollar will go toward securing a safe place to stay, replacing lost belongings, and laying the foundation for a new home.
