Help Kitty Hazel Fight Diabetes!
Hi, I’m Mike’s mom, Angela.
I’m raising funds for my son and his kitty Hazel. His kitties aren’t “just pets” to him — they are his constant companions and a huge part of his life. They are family.
Recently, Hazel was diagnosed with diabetes, and it has been absolutely devastating for my son. Watching the cat he loves struggle with a lifelong illness has taken an emotional toll. He worries constantly — about her health, her comfort, and whether he’s doing enough to help her. Seeing her need daily injections and frequent testing has been difficult for him (as a sole caretaker to her daily 2x injections), even though he faces it with love and determination.
At the same time, the financial burden has been overwhelming. Managing diabetes means ongoing expenses for insulin, syringes, prescription food, glucose testing supplies, and repeated veterinary visits, including costly ER visits. These costs don’t end — they continue month after month — and it has placed a serious strain on him. He has without hesitation, sacrificed so much to make sure Hazel gets the care she needs, often putting his own needs aside because he refuses to give up on her. His savings have been exhausted and is struggling to make ends meet. But he said “ you wouldn’t give up if it were your child, and this is no different”.
To add, Hazel’s litter mate Marley potentially can also become diabetic, but so far is healthy.
Despite everything, my son remains completely committed to Hazel. With proper treatment, diabetic cats can live long, happy lives, and he is doing everything in his power to give her that chance. We are simply asking for help so he doesn’t have to carry this emotional and financial weight alone.
He would never ask for help, so as his mom, I’m doing what any parent would do, trying to help in any way possible.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
• Insulin and syringes
• Prescription diabetic food
• Blood glucose testing supplies
• Veterinary visits and lab work
• Any unexpected or emergency medical needs
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world. Please also help share this fundraiser to anyone you know. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Hazel — and for helping my son during one of the most difficult times he has faced. ❤️
