Help Support Eddie in his journey to recovery.

Eddie LaChase, one of the Half Shell Raw Bar’s long-time friend’s and customer, is in need of financial assistance during his road to recovery.

On February 14th Eddie had a serious medical emergency and had to be airlifted to Miami. Eddie’s currently recovering at the Oasis Rehabilitation Center on Stock Island.

He is a valued member of the boating community as well as the Key West Community. Due to his health, he is unable to live on his boat any longer. In addition, Eddie is very distraught having to be separated from his 2 dogs, Busta & Mary. We know they miss him terribly also. He has been tirelessly trying to find foster care for them to no avail. The uncertainty of his recovery time and the thought of mounting medical bills, the expense of boarding/fostering his dogs, as well as finding housing for himself and his dogs add great stress during this unfortunate time.

Like a number of Key West legends, Eddie embodies the spirit of One Human Family, and often helps without question or expectation of anything in return. If you’ve spent any time with him, you know he’ll do anything to help someone out, whether they are old friends or someone he’s just met. He is the Half Shell Raw Bar’s Bench Manager. He is always there interacting with our customers, meeting new people, assisting tourists and being a great ambassador for the Half Shell Raw Bar and Key West.

*This campaign is being set up by the Half Shell Raw Bar. 100% of any funds received will be passed to Eddy for him to use for medical expenses, boarding/fostering his 2 dogs and housing assistance as he may be homeless when discharged from Oasis Rehab.
