Help Baby Dawson & His Family Through Open-Heart Surgery

As many of you know, my daughter Lexi and Chris recently welcomed their sweet baby boy, Dawson. His arrival was earlier than expected—Lexi was induced a month early due to preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. After an intense and traumatic 40+ hour labor, Dawson entered the world strong and resilient.

Shortly after birth, Dawson was admitted to the NICU due to feeding difficulties. During his stay, doctors discovered a heart murmur, and further tests revealed a serious congenital heart condition. Dawson has aortic stenosis, a narrowed aortic arch, and an aortic valve with only one chamber instead of the usual three—his valve, shaped like a donut, should resemble a peace sign.

After spending three weeks in the hospital, Dawson was finally able to come home and meet his loving siblings, who had been eagerly waiting to hold and care for him. But just a week later, he had to return to the hospital due to worsening heart issues.

Dawson remains hospitalized, and his condition requires immediate intervention. This week, doctors will place a stent in his heart, followed by open-heart surgery next week. In the midst of this, the family has been hit hard—Lexi has been staying at the hospital with Dawson, while Chris cares for their other children at home, where a tough flu has been making its way through the house. Due to the risk of infection, Chris is unable to visit the hospital.

With medical expenses, travel costs to and from the hospital, meals, and everyday needs piling up, we are asking for support to help Lexi, Chris, and their family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward gas, food, and essential expenses so they can focus on what matters most—Dawson’s health and recovery.
