Support Dawn With Her Unexpected Medical Expenses

I’m reaching out today to ask for your help in supporting an incredible woman who has selflessly given so much to our community—Dawn Collins Willis, the owner and creator of Naturally Nurtured Nature School in Macon, Georgia.
Dawn has worn many hats throughout her life, but it’s clear to anyone who has had the privilege of experiencing her forest school that she has truly found her calling. Naturally Nurtured Nature School is not just a school—it’s a sanctuary where children are guided, cared for, and inspired to grow. Children are given the opportunity to learn and grow in an outdoor setting, where they develop important skills like problem-solving, resilience, independence, and adaptability—skills that can only be fully realized through hands-on experiences in nature. Being outdoors not only fosters physical health and creativity but also supports emotional and social growth, giving children a deeper connection to the world around them.
As a small business owner, Dawn has poured her heart and soul into Naturally Nurtured, ensuring children in Macon and the surrounding areas have access to this invaluable learning experience. She is one of the few schools that remains open during holidays and school breaks, always offering support to families who may need it most. She is the kind of person who has always gone above and beyond for others, often putting their needs before her own.
In November, Dawn developed pneumonia, and despite her best efforts to recover, her condition continued to worsen. After a visit to the ER, she was referred to a cardiologist, where tests revealed a serious, but treatable, heart condition. Unfortunately, the only available treatment is open-heart surgery. This procedure is both necessary and time-sensitive, and it will require Dawn to take an extended leave from work. To make matters worse, her insurance will not cover the surgery she desperately needs, and her medical bills are already starting to pile up. Dawn has always been a strong, independent leader who would never ask for help, which is why I am reaching out on her behalf.
We are raising funds to alleviate some of the burdens Dawn is facing, allowing her to focus on her recovery and eventually return to the work she loves—teaching, nurturing, and supporting the families who rely on her. If you are able to help in any way—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—we would be forever grateful. The funds raised will go directly toward her medical bills and covering the operational costs of the school while she is recovering. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping Dawn continue her mission of providing a nurturing educational environment for our children.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
