Hey friends and family! My name is Brenda. I've been friends with Heather and Adam for a long time. We go to charity events together on our motorcycles to help others in need and now it's time to help them out!! Let's help ease the financial burden so they can focus on Adam's health. Please donate if you can and share this so others are aware of the situation. We will keep you updated as we find out more details on Adam's health. We really appreciate anything you can do. God Bless!

In January of 2025 Adam went in for routine blood work. After discussing the results with the PCP, it was determined that he needed to be referred to Dr. Westberg at the St. Anthony’s Cancer Center in Carroll, IA. The doctors moved quickly and asked for him to come in right away on Feb 6th due to the dangerously low platelets and white blood cell counts. At this time, they drew more blood work and confirmed the results were still the same. At this time Adam was put on leave from work and was requested to avoid public places as much as possible due as with the low white blood cells his body was not able to fight off infections and the level of his platelets leaves him at danger of bleeding, in which is body would not be able to clot properly. By Feb 10th Adam was in Des Moines getting a bone marrow biopsy done. Results started coming back little by little but in the meantime, they were traveling to Denison 3 or 4 times a week for blood draws with no change in levels. Bone marrow results did not show leukemia signs, but the doctor realized he needed to consult with doctors at UNMC in Omaha. With a diagnosis of ITP (low platelets) and low white blood cell counts we were off to Omaha to see another specialist that was consulting with Dr. Westberg. This day they did a lot more blood work and some radiology imaging and the doctor called to set him up for IV transfusions in Carroll, these started this week and are every day and take around 4-5 hours. They are hopeful that these will bring his numbers up to a safer level while a large group of doctors try to puzzle together the mystery of why his body is attacking and killing both the low platelets and the white blood cells, if it were one or the other it would be much easier but the two of these both being off is leading them to think there is more than one thing happening. At this time Adam has been off work since Feb 6th when they called him and told him he needed to be in Carroll that day. As of March 12th, the doctor has now taken him out another month from work with the understanding that in another month this may be extended.
