Hi, my name is Tori. I'm the oldest daughter of my two parents, Amber & Boddie Weldy. Alongside me, there’s Joe, Hayleigh, Nevaeh, Little Hailey, & Harper. On December 4th, Hayleigh’s 20th birthday, she found a lump on her neck. She’s had NF1 (Neurofibromatosis type I), a genetic disorder that causes non-cancerous tumors to grow along nerves and under the skin. So we went to the doctor, got the scans, the lab work, all we needed done. We waited and waited for answers. By December 31st, we got a call to come in because there was something we had to discuss. The tumor rapidly growing on Hayleigh’s neck was Sarcoma cancer. The news broke us, of course, but it also strengthened us. Anyone that knows us knows we are as close as a family can be, but now’s the time to come even closer. So we cried, we screamed, we didn’t sleep, and we didn’t eat. We kept moving forward. I, myself, have just recently completely opened my heart up to God, so he was the first person I turned to. Every day since then, I have voiced, prayed, and sang the word of God to my family over and over about how he can help us more than anyone else can right now. And he has. He listens, and he hears us.
Skip forward the 3 and a half hour rides to Ann Arbor, the pain my little sister is enduring, the heartache, the pain and suffering she is going through throughout these 3 months. And here we are, with answers and guidance. She begins her chemotherapy this Wednesday, for 3 consecutive days, every three weeks. The chemotherapy will stop and shrink the tumor she has on her neck, which has rapidly grown, which will lead us later to surgery to remove the tumor. Through all this scary news, all the weird doctor appointments we sit through in disbelief, God answered us. The cancer team at Ann Arbor, Michigan, assured my sister that her cancer has not spread and is COMPLETELY CURABLE ‼️‼️‼️‼️ COMPLETELY CURABLE! So now we begin this journey, where we do the dang thing. We fight this battle and we continue forward with our Heavenly Father.
In such a hard time, we all hate to ask for anything; we rarely do. As I’m getting T-shirts made to sell, some decals for cars to sell and raise money for expenses, I fear it won’t be close to enough with the car rides, doctor appointments, medical bills, etc. We know we are supported and loved, we know there are many people who care. As much as we don’t want to accept it, we have to accept where we are and how we can accomplish this. My sister lives with me now. I work full time, as do my boyfriend and both parents. We are making ends meet and keeping her as comfortable and healthy as we can, but it still gets hard. So I am making this GoFundMe in hopes it can help my baby sister cover her medical bills, treatment expenses, etc.
We want to thank you in advance for the constant prayers, all the support and love you’ve all given. It’s been enough, and God will continue to listen if we continue to pray and ask for his guidance. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, from the family of Hayleigh Weldy! ❤️
