A year and two months ago, our family’s life changed forever.

At just 20 years old, Dome was involved in an accident right outside her home when she was struck by a gas distribution truck. As a result, she lost her left arm, suffered multiple fractures, and had to undergo a complex reconstruction of her left leg.

Since then, she has faced an incredibly difficult journey: surgeries, treatments, and intensive medical procedures, always with a strength that inspires us every single day.

A few months ago, a bone infection required another reconstruction. Today, Dome has a titanium prosthesis and a new kneecap, and she continues fighting for her recovery. However, a recent bacterial infection has delayed a crucial surgery: a skin graft needed to move forward in her healing process.

She has now been hospitalized for over two and a half months. We still do not know how many more procedures will be needed or how much longer she will need to remain in the hospital, in addition to the long recovery process that lies ahead.

So far, medical expenses have exceeded $400,000 and continue to rise due to hospitalization, surgeries, medications, and specialized care. At this point, our resources have been exhausted, but the fight continues.

As a family, we have done everything within our reach: we have organized fundraising events, received support from the community and medical team, and given our all to sustain this process.

Any contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Sharing this story can also have a powerful impact.

Our greatest wish is to give Dome the chance to keep fighting, to recover, and to rebuild her life.

Hace un año y dos meses, la vida de nuestra familia cambió para siempre.

Dome, con tan solo 20 años, sufrió un accidente en la puerta de su casa al ser impactada por un camión de distribución de gas. Como consecuencia, perdió su brazo izquierdo, sufrió múltiples fracturas y tuvo que someterse a una compleja reconstrucción de su pierna izquierda.

Desde entonces, ha enfrentado un camino muy duro: cirugías, tratamientos y procesos médicos intensivos, siempre con una fortaleza que nos inspira cada día.

Hace algunos meses, una infección en el hueso obligó a realizar una nueva reconstrucción. Hoy, Dome tiene una prótesis de titanio y una rótula nueva, y continúa luchando por su recuperación. Sin embargo, recientemente apareció una bacteria que ha retrasado una cirugía clave: un colgajo de piel necesario para avanzar en su proceso.

Actualmente, lleva más de dos meses y medio hospitalizada. Aún no sabemos cuántas intervenciones más serán necesarias ni cuánto tiempo más deberá permanecer en el hospital. Además del proceso de recuperación que viene más adelante.

Hasta ahora, los gastos médicos superan los $400,000, y siguen aumentando con la hospitalización, cirugías, medicamentos y cuidados especializados. Hoy, los recursos se han agotado, pero la lucha continúa.

Como familia, hemos hecho todo lo que está a nuestro alcance: organizamos eventos, recibimos el apoyo de la comunidad y del equipo médico, y hemos puesto todo nuestro esfuerzo para sostener este proceso.

Cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, suma. Compartir esta historia también puede marcar una gran diferencia.
