The last visit out to Texas that my mom had, they told her that there was nothing more that they could do for her cancer. The immune therapy she could no longer do because it was causing more issues than it was doing good.

When all this started, mom and I were added to this group for people with this rare cancer. Words of encouragement, what doctors to go to, and trying to navigate how to deal with this cancer were shared in the group. A couple of days before mom was leaving to go to TX, I read an article that there was a newly found drug that could stop the growth of the tumors. We thought we would give it a shot and ask her doctors in TX if this was something she could start on, since we didn’t have any other options.

When mom met with her doctor, they spoke about the medication and he said YES, this is something we can try.

We jumped for joy, so excited. We will fight this cancer and nothing is going to stop us. Until it has.

Mom was able to get the 1st month of this medication for free. We were hopeful that insurance would cover it after that.

Mom received a call and was told that the medication was going to cost $2,000 and that if she paid this $2,000, she wouldn’t have to pay for any other medication for the rest of the year because she would have met a certain criteria.

So we are reaching out to anyone that feels the need to help. You all have been by our side, have donated, and prayed with us during the journey we have been on for 6 years.

The medical expenses do not stop, and the trips to TX do not either. We are blessed to have a doctor in Evansville she can see to help not having to go to TX so much, but with everything she has going on, she will be returning to TX in April.

Mom did not ask me to do this and I have done it without her approval .

I ask that we cover mom in prayer and pray this medication stops the growth.
