Dear friends, family, and loved ones,

The Jackson family is walking once again through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.

In late July, our father, husband, brother, and friend, Daniel Jackson, was hospitalized with severe abdominal pain. After multiple tests and scans, we received the devastating news that the medical diagnosis is Stage 4 hepatocellular carcinoma—a large mass in his liver and multiple nodules in his lungs.

Daniel has already begun treatment with immunotherapy and will soon undergo additional procedures to target both the liver mass and the lung nodules. In addition to his medical treatments, we are pursuing functional medicine and holistic approaches that offer hope but come with a heavy financial burden, as they are not covered by insurance. On top of this, Daniel has had to take medical leave from work, creating further financial strain during an already overwhelming time.

Cancer is not new to our family’s story. It has taken and touched the lives of so many we love— from Daniel’s late wife (our mother), who bravely fought but passed away, to his second wife (our stepmom) who is a survivor, to several of his brothers who have faced their own battles… some who survived and some who didn’t. This history weighs heavily on us, but it also fuels our determination to fight alongside him, holding on to our faith and declaring that this time we will witness healing in Jesus’ name.

We know that the road ahead will be filled with challenges—medical, emotional, and financial. Therefore, we humbly ask for your prayers, encouragement, acts of kindness, and, if you feel led, financial contributions to help cover the mounting costs of his care. Every gesture, no matter how small, means the world to us and helps carry this burden together.

Queridos amigos, familiares y seres queridos,

La familia Jackson atraviesa una vez más una de las etapas más difíciles de nuestras vidas.

A finales de julio, nuestro padre, esposo, hermano y amigo, Daniel Jackson, fue hospitalizado con un fuerte dolor abdominal. Después de múltiples exámenes y estudios, recibimos la devastadora noticia de que el diagnóstico médico es carcinoma hepatocelular en etapa 4: una gran masa en el hígado y múltiples nódulos en los pulmones.

Daniel ya ha comenzado tratamiento con inmunoterapia y pronto se someterá a procedimientos adicionales para tratar tanto la masa en el hígado como los nódulos pulmonares. Además de los tratamientos médicos, estamos recurriendo a la medicina funcional y enfoques holísticos que nos dan esperanza, pero que implican una gran carga financiera, ya que no están cubiertos por el seguro. A esto se suma que Daniel ha tenido que tomar una licencia médica de su trabajo, lo que genera aún más presión económica en un tiempo ya de por sí abrumador.

El cáncer no es algo nuevo en la historia de nuestra familia. Ha tocado y se ha llevado a muchos de nuestros seres queridos: desde la primera esposa de Daniel (nuestra madre), quien luchó valientemente pero falleció, hasta su segunda esposa (nuestra madrastra), que es sobreviviente, y varios de sus hermanos que también enfrentaron sus propias batallas… algunos sobrevivieron y otros no. Esta historia pesa mucho en nosotros, pero también alimenta nuestra determinación de luchar a su lado, aferrándonos a nuestra fe y declarando que esta vez seremos testigos de sanidad en el nombre de Jesús.

Sabemos que el camino que tenemos por delante estará lleno de desafíos—médicos, emocionales y financieros. Por eso pedimos sus oraciones, palabras de ánimo, actos de bondad y, si así lo sienten en su corazón, contribuciones financieras para ayudar a cubrir los crecientes gastos de su cuidado. Cada gesto, por pequeño que parezca, significa el mundo para nosotros y nos ayuda a llevar esta carga juntos.

Desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón, gracias por acompañar a nuestra familia en los picos y valles de esta batalla. Su amor, oraciones y apoyo traen luz a una temporada muy difícil, y estamos profundamente agradecidos.
