We are Brassica Kitchen and Café -- a popular, award-winning, neighborhood restaurant at 3710 Washington St. in the heart of Forest Hills. Over the past 9 years, we have driven our success through a powerful combination of innovation and inclusivity. We’re a family-owned restaurant that believes in the creative guest “experience” combined with a “people-first” perspective.
All of our dreams have been to change the industry for the better by supporting fair, livable wages for the whole team; a place to learn and discover who we are; to nurture a family away from home for staff and guests alike; and to have a BLAST doing it!
BUT, having enjoyed so much success and support from our community, we are extremely limited by our physical space at 3710. Our 32-seat restaurant is often at capacity and our kitchen is too small to accommodate our growing staff and their ambitions: they want to develop new menus and systems to apply their skills and advance their careers & we want to continue to support them. Our limited space precludes that... so we are EXPANDING!
Our goal is more space for our guests, more jobs for our local community, and of course, to continue to educate and entertain. We have spent the last decade in Forest Hills focused on our creativity and we are stoked to use this creativity to design and launch - from scratch - a welcoming, spacious, 90 seat family restaurant with all the lovable classics and continued innovation you have come to love and trust. (Just in a larger and newer space.)
You all helped us raise over $22k towards a massive Hobart Mixer to make all our doughs, as well as a renovation to the pizza oven and the tiles that now surround it! We are so grateful for your generosity and can’t wait to welcome you into the expanded restaurant this summer.
You’ve ALL been entered to win “The Ride” for 2, including a wine pairing (valued at $350). The winner will be notified directly soon. Donations of $200 or more will also receive a limited edition Brassica tee that you can pick up at the restaurant, so we’ll follow up to let you know when they arrive.
We are closing in on the last dash, and short about $100k (LOL! But seriously). We still need the furnishings and finishing touches on the dining room, a draft beer system, efficient fryers and ovens, and the many things that go into the final details of opening a new space.
Our idea for this last push is to pre-sell the events and parties we have been throwing for y’all over the last decade. The baby showers and weddings, holiday parties and birthdays, fundraisers and graduation celebrations - literally hundreds of parties! These events have been so much fun, and more than that, they have filled us with gratitude. Both for your appreciation of our hospitality as well as the connection we have had the honor of seeing so many share through our food.
If you are interested, we invite you to pre-book through our website's catering page. You don’t need a firm date right now, just a commitment for a gathering with us anytime between fall 2025 through 2030. As this pre-booking is so vital and helpful for us right now, we are taking 10% off the pricing of all events pre booked before September 2025 to show our appreciation for your trust in our continued success. Thank you for the tremendous commitment over the last 10 years to the Brassica family. Your advance event reservations will directly support our move into the new dining room next door. We are proud to stay in this community for another decade or more. The friends we’ve made since 2015, the opportunity to grow and have space for even more of them, your dedication to our team’s livelihoods - this fundraising has shown us just how supported we are in our home. We truly couldn’t be more grateful for all of you!

Our Mission
We were originally inspired by restaurants like Rialto, Ribelle and the original Aquitaine. We have stood on the shoulders of these institutions and many others to build our interpretation of American, European & Asian cuisines using fermentation, upcycling, and history to inspire our creativity. After all these years in this little room, we have decided to continue for us all. It’s hard to put into words, but why do we do this? To see cooks & servers grow into chefs & managers, to see our guests fall in love with our hospitality and cuisine allowing themselves to become part of our family, and to serve our community. To facilitate connection through our craft is the gift… so for all the folks who work beside us, to the folks who wine and dine with us, and to ourselves, this is what we mean by “us all.” We will continue this process of exploring cuisine and serving it in a friendly way, without the fuss, alongside tasty beverages.
