THE EIGHTEEN ARHAT STATUES

AT PHAT AM PAGODA

Namo Shakyamuni Buddha

Dear Venerable Monastics, Devout Buddhist Followers, and Friends of the Dharma Near and Far,

With the sincere aspiration to create a sacred place where the community may come to pay homage, contemplate the noble virtues of the Enlightened Disciples, and strengthen faith on the path of practice, Phat Am Pagoda respectfully announces the sacred project of enshrining the Eighteen Arhat Statues.

These statues will be carefully carved from green marble, each standing 1.6 meters (approximately 5.25 feet) in height. Crafted with refined artistry and solemn dignity, the statues will embody the serene presence, spiritual discipline, and noble virtues of the enlightened Arhats. Built to endure through time, they will serve as a lasting spiritual inspiration for generations of practitioners and visitors.

The enshrinement of these sacred statues carries profound spiritual significance:

• To further dignify and beautify the monastery grounds

• To provide a place for devotees to contemplate the virtues of the Noble Sangha

• To nurture faith, mindfulness, and diligence in the practice of the Dharma

• To create wholesome conditions for future generations to plant seeds of merit and wisdom

The Merit of Offering the Eighteen Arhat Statues

Supporting the creation and enshrinement of sacred statues is considered one of the most sublime fields of merit, because it:

• Honors and adorns the Triple Gem — the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha

• Creates wholesome karmic connections for those who come to pay homage

• Generates long-lasting merit that continues to benefit many beings

• Cultivates blessings, wisdom, peace, and the fulfillment of wholesome aspirations

As taught in the Buddhist scriptures:

“Offering support to the images of the Buddha and the Noble Sangha brings immeasurable and boundless merit.”

TƯỢNG THẬP BÁT A-LA-HÁN

TẠI PHẬT ÂM PAGODA

Nam Mô Bổn Sư Thích Ca Mâu Ni Phật.

Kính thưa quý Phật tử gần xa,

Để tạo thêm thắng duyên cho đại chúng có nơi chiêm bái, học hạnh và phát khởi tín tâm, chùa Phật Âm Pagoda hiện đang phát tâm tôn trí 18 tượng A-la-hán bằng đá cẩm thạch xanh, cao 1m60, được chế tác trang nghiêm, tinh xảo, bền chắc theo thời gian, thể hiện trọn vẹn oai nghi và hạnh nguyện của các bậc Thánh giả.

Việc tôn trí bộ tượng này mang ý nghĩa:

• Góp phần trang nghiêm cảnh già-lam

• Tạo phương tiện giúp Phật tử chiêm nghiệm hạnh nguyện Thánh Tăng

• Nuôi dưỡng niềm tin, chánh niệm, tinh tấn

• Tạo cảnh duyên thanh tịnh để đời sau người hữu duyên được gieo trồng thiện căn

Ý nghĩa cúng dường bộ tượng Thập Bát La Hán

Cúng dường Thánh tượng là một trong những phước điền thù thắng nhất vì:

• Trang nghiêm Tam Bảo, làm đẹp chùa cảnh

• Gieo duyên lành cho người đến chiêm bái, lễ lạy

• Công đức lưu giữ lâu dài theo năm tháng

• Gia tăng phước báo – trí tuệ – bình an – sở nguyện như ý

Như Kinh dạy:

“Cúng dường hình tượng Phật và Thánh chúng, phước báo vô lượng vô biên.”

Lời kêu gọi phát tâm

Nhà chùa tha thiết kính mời quý Phật tử:
