Hello everyone, my name is Areli and I am April’s sister and POA. I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I wanted to start this fundraiser, but I have accepted that it is crucial to give her the best possibility of survival.

Those of you who know me, know it’s not the easiest thing for me to ask for help, but I’ve realized we cannot do this alone. For 36 days, I have witnessed my sister fight for her life; the minutes seem like hours and the hours feel like weeks. April has a life-threatening disease and an extremely rare parasite that affects less than 1% of the American population; it can live dormant for years causing absolutely no symptoms or warning signs, but compromises major organs when it finally decides to attack.

April has 3 children, the youngest one being 11. It would be a grave loss for her to leave us, but a catastrophic loss for the children. We are asking people to donate even just $1. Every single penny we receive ensures that she is only focused on getting better, and not everything else that comes with it.
