Join Us in Easing Maria's Health Burden

Hi everyone, my name is Morayma Hernandez. I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Maria Alvarado. Maria and I have been friends for over 20 years. We both attended Jefferson High School together and have been friends ever since. Maria is more than one of my best friends; Maria is family to me.

In 2019, Maria was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Lupus. Since her diagnosis, this disease has brought her several health-related complications, and she has undergone 3 different surgeries, leaving a financial burden. She will require yet another surgery next week, this time to remove one of her ovaries. This surgery alone will cost her $3,500 out of pocket.

She is a hardworking, loving, single mom of 2, Starr (16) and Khalil (10), with 2 jobs to provide for her children. Unfortunately, her primary job is not offering paid FMLA, and her secondary job does not offer any benefits due to her part-time only status. Your contributions would not only help pay for past and future medical expenses but will also help to provide for her children while she is out of work.
