In October 2023, Jeff was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, irregular heartbeat, and chronic heart failure due to an inherited genetic disorder called Lamin A/C gene mutation. After a year of increasingly aggressive medical intervention, it was clear that he was going to need a heart transplant. On November 9, 2024, Jeff underwent a successful heart transplant surgery! While we are so thankful for the healthy and safe transplant surgery, the path to healing is long and difficult.

Many of you have asked over the last several months how you could help Jeff, Kat and Lena. Knowing what still lies ahead, it is clear that their most pressing need is for financial support. It is vital that their energy remains focused on Jeff’s healing, and he will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future. Further complicating matters, the status of his disability income will not be determined for several months.
